Word from the Changemaker
"I have made my entry about Catherine of Aragon as she is very underrated in history compared to her successor, Anne Boleyn. She was Princess of Wales (1499/1501 - 1502), Dowager Princess of Wales (1502 - 1536), Queen of England (1509 - 1533/1536), Queen Regent of England (1513), and the first female Ambassador of Spain to England (1507 - 1509). She also fought a battle while pregnant and helped take down the King of Scotland, mailing her husband his bloody robe. She went through 4 miscarriages and stillbirths and had a son die within 2 months. She refused to annul her marriage to Henry VIII, which helped to ensure that her daughter became the first undisputed queen regnant of England as Mary I (1553 - 1558). She was exiled from court from 1531 until her death and was basically imprisoned in her castle with few people being allowed to see her. She wasn't even allowed to see her daughter except for once when she caught smallpox in 1534. Catherine had to endure so much and she often pales in history compared to her husband's second wife, Anne Boleyn"
